22th July, Times Higher Education (THE) released the shortlist of the 1stChina Subject Ratings. The THE’s China Subject Ratings generally evaluate a discipline by 11 key performance indicators (KPIs) in 5 fields: teaching (learning environment), research (volume, income, and reputation), citations (research influence), international diversity (international teachers, students, and collaborations), and industry income (innovation and achievement transformation). The China Subject Ratings used ‘A﹢to C﹣’ scoring system to evaluate all disciplines in Chinese universities.The ‘Environmental Science and Engineering’ of our department was shortlisted for Class A, which was one of the three Class A subjects of Jiangsu University.

Being shortlisted for Class A demonstrated the obvious improvement in the core competitiveness of the ‘Environmental Science and Engineering’ discipline of our department.
