The team leader is Professor Xiangyang Wu. The team coordinated by Professor Xiangyang Wu consists of twenty two researchers, including five professors, eight associate professors, two supervisors for PhD degree candidates and eighteen supervisors for MS degree candidates.
Our Research scope emphasized on three fields:
1. Environmental analytical chemistry
We focus on development of new analytical/monitoring method for analysis trace persistent organic pollutants (pops) in environmental samples and its environmental behavior, novel antibodies production against organic pollutants and novel analytical methods based on immunoassay, Functionalization and synthesis of the novel carbon-based materials and their applications in electrochemical determination of organic pollutants, development of biosensors and analytical assays for molecules of environmental and biological significance, detection of heavy and transition metal (HTM) ions, development of new analytical methods for analysis organic pollutants by using new molecularly imprinted polymers.
2. Environmental toxicology and health risk assessment
We study on the toxicity and mechanism of environmental and natural chemicals, such as pesticides, endocrine disruptors, heavy metals in fish; Toxicity, combined toxicology and mechanism of environmental contaminants in mice; (Eco) toxicological and health risk assessment of chemicals; Distribution, bio-enrichment, migration, transformation and environmental toxicology of environmental hormones in water; The nutrition intervention and its effect mechanism of the disease caused by environmental pollutants.
3. Water pollution control techniques
We focus on synthesis, characterization and photocatalytic activity of novel photocatalysts; Degradation of persistent organic pollutants and environmental hormones in water environment by advanced oxidation technologies; Synthesis of the novel adsorb materials and their applications in removal of persistent organic pollutants, environmental hormones and heavy metals in water environment; The synthesis of environment-friendly functional nano-materials and their application.
