After years of construction and development, the institute of pollution control and resource utilization of Jiangsu University has achieved rich research results in the aspects of advanced treatment of industrial wastewater, purification of black and odorous water body, environmental ecological restoration, and treatment of polluted soil, guided by environmental pollution problems in social and economic development, adheres to the scientific method of combining basic research with engineering application, integrating technology development with equipment, and combining pollution control with resource utilization, based on the advanced theory and technology of environmental science and engineering, fluid machinery and engineering, chemical engineering and technology.

At present, the Institute is headed by Professor Wu Chundu, vice president and doctoral supervisor of Jiangsu University. There are 20 full-time researchers, 8 professors, 9 associate professors, 3 lecturers, 5 doctoral advisors, and 16 master's supervisors. All of them have doctoral degrees. Over the past five years, the main personnel of the Institute have undertaken more than 30 scientific research projects, including more than 5 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and about 20 other provincial and ministerial projects, with a total research fund of nearly 10 million yuan, which provides strong support for the development of subject and personnel training.
